I bought a SIA record for my boyfriend for his birthday (he LOVES her), and I ended up falling in love with her too! She is extremely inspiring, so I decided to let myself be inspired by her today. Here is the sketch straight from my sketchbook.

Yay! I made it!
I submitted my work to the American Illustration, each year they publish the top Illustrations of that year, back in February, and I recently found out that my work has been selected by some of art directors I admire most. I am so honored and excited! I cannot wait to attend the events in NYC in November for Illustration week.
Long Necks
I was expirementing more with my ink textures, masking fluid, and ink textures, and this is what I came up with. I am starting to love this white haired and long necked lady, and I am thinking of drawing her in several very different looks- what do you think?
Just got done setting up for my new show. If you are in San Francisco at all during the month of August stop down to City Arts Gallery in the Mission district. There is a show opening with all the artists on August 5, 2016 from 7 to 10, and there will be drinks, snacks, and fun people!
