I bought a SIA record for my boyfriend for his birthday (he LOVES her), and I ended up falling in love with her too! She is extremely inspiring, so I decided to let myself be inspired by her today. Here is the sketch straight from my sketchbook.

Masking fluid and ink textures
This time I tried out some of my masking fluid. This stuff is really neat! It starts out as liquid, but then it dries as a sticky solid. It adheres to the paper while I go through and ink blot the necesary spaces, and after the ink dries, the masking fluid rubs right off, leaving the only the white of the paper. If you decide to try this out, be careful using it with brushes, as the masking fluid can really ruin it. I used a glass pen and it worked really well!
Just got done setting up for my new show. If you are in San Francisco at all during the month of August stop down to City Arts Gallery in the Mission district. There is a show opening with all the artists on August 5, 2016 from 7 to 10, and there will be drinks, snacks, and fun people!
